Current Course Instructors at The Studio KW

Kimberly Kropf

I began my Jewellery making with a beginner class offered through Conestoga College.  I quickly discovered how much I loved working with metal.  Taking raw material and transforming it into beautiful pieces of wearable art.

As my skills and desire grew, I moved from a small basement studio into a more established studio space.  In 2016, I took over the same teaching school that I learned from many years ago, transforming it into The Studio KW.  I enjoy the challenges I face from both producing work, and teaching.  Often times, it's my students that provide the inspiration and motivation to be consistently developing new skills and pushing my boundaries.

I enjoy bringing nature into my work whenever possible and like to play with contrast and texture, trying to have at least one of those features in my pieces. I'm always striving to push beyond my current boundaries and challenge myself with my inspirations and designs.

Deborah Jasinski

Deb's journey into the world of metalsmithing began right here as a student at The Studio KW. After 30 years in the floral design industry Deb decided it was time for a career change. She traded her flower shears for a jeweller's saw and began studying.

Deb joined the teaching roster at The Studio KW in 2021. Her unique blend of floral artistry and metalwork creates captivating pieces that reflect her deep connection to the natural world.

Stephanie Watson

Stephanie Watson has been making jewellery for almost 20 years. She started with beads, which she calls the gateway drug to fine jewellery, and then started taking classes at The Studio KW and eventually attended Georgian College’s Jewellery and Metals program. She has been teaching at The Studio KW since 2016.

Working mostly with sterling silver, Steph’s jewellery style is classic, simple and elegant. She loves travelling, good coffee, ice cream and concerts, and hates writing about herself in the third person.
